Rates are UK national (non-London): central London and constrained urban sites typically run dearer — adjust the labour, plant and access lines in the build-up accordingly.

Internal door (supply & hang)
per m² · supply & lay
£158 – £291 / nr
What is it

The supply and hanging of an internal door — a standard door leaf trimmed and planed to fit a prepared lining, hung on 1.5 pairs of butt hinges with a morticed tubular latch and lever-on-rose furniture, then eased, adjusted and hung to swing and latch cleanly — priced per door (nr). A moulded 4/6-panel white-primed leaf is the mainstream UK budget internal door. This rate prices the DOOR only — the door lining/frame, the architrave, the decoration and any glazing or closers are separate rates. The rate carries three operations:

  1. Trim & hang — the leaf offered up, trimmed and planed to the prepared lining with the correct joinery gaps.
  2. Ironmongery — 1.5 pairs of butt hinges let in and fixed, a tubular mortice latch and keep morticed in and lever furniture on rose fitted.
  3. Ease & adjust — the door hung, eased and adjusted to swing freely and latch cleanly, ready for decoration.

3 key cost drivers
Door & opening complexity
A standard leaf on a plumb, prepared lining hangs fastest; an out-of-square or twisted lining, an oversize or cut-down leaf, a heavier solid-core / fire door (intumescent seals, extra hinges, a closer) or restricted access add fitting time. It is a key driver of the labour per door.
Door type & grade
Three genuinely different door leaves: a hollow-core flush leaf, a moulded 4/6-panel primed leaf (the default) and an oak-veneer solid-core leaf. Each is a distinct BoQ item with its own construction and unit price; a solid-core FD30 fire door is a further described spec. The control switches product, not price grade.
Location
London and the South East typically add around 20% to labour.
