What is it
The supply and laying of a single skin of 100 mm aircrete (autoclaved-aerated-concrete) blockwork of 3.6 N/mm² grade, priced per m² of wall face. Aircrete is the lightest walling block, full of trapped air, so it lays fast, cuts easily and insulates well, and the 3.6N grade is the standard strength for the inner leaf of a cavity wall and for partitions. Two jointing systems cover most jobs:
Traditional — site-mixed sand-cement mortar with 10 mm joints; the common method and the default rate.
Thin-joint — a 2–3 mm thin-bed adhesive instead of mortar; faster laying on repetitive walls for a small extra material cost.

Openings, returns, piers and reveals slow the gang and add cutting waste. It is the top driver of the rate.
Block supply & price
Aircrete blocks are roughly 40% of the cost. With the 3.6N specification fixed, their price moves with the market and is carried in the band rather than a dropdown.

London and the South East typically add around 20% to labour.
